Sun

The sun stares over me
I walk tall, like the old gum tree
my body, full with sweat
SPLASH! My feet are wet
slimy, seaweed on sand
the great Australian land
whistling birds
a man answering crosswords
on a delightful, hot summer’s day
these memories will never fade away
I see my parents, waiting for me
over there by the old gum tree
I run like speedy jets
as the sun sets
dreaming…
