Excellence Award in the 'Word Zone 2016' competition
Tears streamed down her cheeks
Permanently fixed on a face not deemed ‘beautiful’
Her mind had fled the scene
Her thoughts no longer rational
It was too late for that girl
No screaming could keep her tranquil
A single whisper in absolute chaos
All recovery seemed completely impossible
Her sanity was stolen from her
He ripped her dignity and pride away too
How he convinced her this was love
For every ounce of his intentions cruel
In the serenity, she now knows
That 'true love' never really lasts
As she holds the million pieces
Of her broken, crumbling heart
