I Am A Bird

I always got called a nerd,
So one gloomy day, I flew away,
And got lost on the way.
I flew and I flew,
Over the ocean, crystal blue,
Over mountains, over trees, even other birds too.
I had planned to look for some land,
So flew down onto the sand,
And I was asleep before you could clap your hand.
I woke up in the morning all tired and yawning,
But I was up and ready to fly,
I said ‘goodbye’ and off I flew into the pure blue sky.
I flew all day zigging and zagging, twisting and drifting
No longer a nerd, And then I spotted a familiar land.
When I got a bit closer I knew it was home,
And I flew happily right back to my old garden gnome.
