3rd in the 'Watch Out! 2000' competition
Lightning clouds hover in a sad and gloomy sky,
Thunder releases its far distant cry,
Fierce, brave guard dogs tremble in fright,
As large, violent flashes move into sight.
The lightning strikes with terrible force,
Nothing can stop its life-threatening course.
The heavens release a downpour of rain,
The rivers and dams have spectacular gain,
And soon over flow as floods take place,
Roads become rivers at accelerated pace.
Nature has released its terrible quest,
Man and his wisdom are put to the test.
