From infants we fed from the same breast,
we’d play in a tree where the roots run deep.
Blood in your veins was the same I possessed,
though culture’s prejudice caused you to weep.
You read my thoughts as if they were your own,
while bringing joy to my sorrowful heart.
Sacrificed for love, I deeply bemoan,
As I am the Monster watching you drown.
Bloodied alleyway, there I lost my soul,
I nor your slingshot protected you there.
Paralysis consumed, beyond all control,
haunting dark delusion, my cowardice lays bare.
For my Chinese doll, Kabul I’ll return.
I share scars of a Lamb, while the streets burn.
