Awaken me, O time, gatekeeper of the unknown
Point my eyes to the horizon, set alight my gaze
With borrowed light, the last reprieve of those
Blinded by mortality to pierce through
The darkness at the end of the line

For the path is steep and treacherous
And my torch-bearing companions
Will falter, for they are human first
And none but you shall carry me up the highway
Towards this salvation, O hope

I will walk alone, as always in my heart
I have; but guide me kindly, slow light of dusk
If you will not reveal my path, then let me see my footsteps
As I tread into the departing twilight, O fate
Be not my enemy upon this moonlit road
