To be Australian is to rise with the morning sun
It’s to catch yabbies with your cousins in the dam
Or to go tad-poling in the creek
It’s to chase sheep down a dusty gravel road
And to love the smell of rain before a storm
To be Australian is to camp under the stars
And to share stories around a campfire
It’s to watch the geckos climb up the wall in summer
Or to have all the family over at Christmas
It’s to listen to Macca on a Sunday as we drive to the footy
And to rattle down the highway in the school bus
To be Australian is to be who we were brought up to be
