You feel the familiar, painful ache,
As your world crumbles and quakes.
He looks a different way,
And his face lights up like a warm Summer’s day.
His mind wanders far away from you,
When he casts his eyes on someone new.
A deep despair, too strong for words,
Your vision for love is impaired and blurred.
Time passes and they grow close,
You’ll always love him more, but he never knows.
A part of the shadows, you become,
While she lights up like the glowing sun.
He walks away, and your lives part,
Yet you still love him with all your heart.
When he gets down on one knee, heaven shines from above,
But you, you’re left with the torture of unrequited love.
