Excellence Award in the 'Spread The Word 2017' competition
A melody of melancholy the choir sings.
Truthful versus, My mind they sting.
The world on my shoulders, a failed crop.
I only had to offer but a drop.
The Choir, Angels once quite pure.
Now pathetic demons that no mere spell can cure.
But silence shall fall when the task is through.
Off of my shoulders, the world will collapse into a blue.
For I will run, aching, nevermore,
Walk only in the wake of nothingness beyond the shore.
So if you, dear reader, hear those bells ring,
remember my angels, elusive demons, who only wished to sing,
And coax me into my last sleep.
