Welcome to this petty dance,
A gruesome six year haul.
Now shall I introduce–
The guests of the boorish ball?
It is the ladies with false faces,
A lewd concoction of powder and paint.
Their desire to please and tempt,
Beneath blemishes of jealousy and hate.
It is the gentlemen not gentle,
Their heads a hollow shell.
Their witless mouths that won’t shut;
Offensive comments that won’t quell.
But alas, it is the character
More wicked than these persons!
Why, it is the coward that hides-
Behind a mask of assumptive verses.
