What is perfect? Those words go through my brain
As people look and think, they stare straight through my pain.
They start to laugh and paint a picture in THEIR brain
But the picture isn’t a pleasant picture in a frame,
That picture doesn’t show my pain,
It shows who they think you are in their way,
Maybe ugly, hideous or even insane,
But why don’t they see my pain?
The pain that my friends have is not able to be seen,
That’s why the bullies laugh and tease -
They don’t believe my friends are mentally drained.
As the pain travels through my brain, I have a game that I won’t name
But the aim is to help people who feel ashamed of their pain.
As I teach them my little game, they start to wonder why they felt such pain,
And now they sit in the hall of fame as the ones who overcame that terrible pain.
