Why?... Oh why? Our beloved General,
The days you bragged to me about your beloved car,
Oh how I would listen to you until I would have gone deaf to bring you back,
The car has taken its toll, driving no more,
To die to a puny strike, through all trouble you have been through.
Our men all grieve, the firing of rifles like that on the battlefield,
Just to commemorate the time, you have been our leader,
The kindness you have shown us on the battlefield,
The teaching of your skills, which allowed us to live on.
Our general’s pulse is gone,
My brother’s body in pieces.
He does not answer to our calls, live on!
But rest peacefully my dear,
For what we have accomplished your sacrifice will always be remembered,
Our forces have overwhelmed them,
Victory is ours.
But here lies my brother,
My general that I could not protect, pale and still.
