They say, “A hero never dies”,
And I knew that it was true.
When I saw the light fade from your eyes,
I swore that I would never forget you.
By the window, you come and visit,
Flying, soaring through windborne clouds.
As love falls down from the sky,
Your wings flutter, will you stop time?
Your gentle presence reminds me
Even though we are far apart,
That your spirit and love is always within me
Forever in my heart.
Yet remembering you is easy,
I think of you everyday.
But there is an ache and lasting hurt,
That will never go away.
