Finalist in the 'Spread The Word 2017' competition
He spread his magnificent wings across the paralysed night.
He gathered his strength and quickly began to take flight.
His feathers were like those in a painting.
One a witch would hang on her wall.
And all the dead was awakened, when the raven sounded his call.
Wake the graveyard! Wake the dead!
Get the corpses out of their bed!
Rise the zombies from their slumber,
and we shall dance in rain and thunder!
Wake the devil! Wake the Lord!
Wake the knight with the bloody sword!
Tonight we dance! Tonight we sing!
Tonight our gloomy Raven King,
will spread his wings against the ragged night.
