Grandma awoke early one sunday morning,
Even though she didn't have to,
She seemed to be in a big rush,
As if she had something to do.
I rolled out of bed at 9am,
Expecting to have something to eat,
But when I walked through the doors,
I was in for quite a treat!
On the floor in front of me,
Lay a small brown box,
Grandma was lying on the sofa,
So I was as stealthy as a fox.
As I held up the box,
It gave a little whimper.
And on the floor in front of me,
Lay a card that was silver.
It read,’Open Me!’
So I opened the box with curiosity,
And inside was an adorable little puppy,
I smiled at grandma for her generosity.
