Excellence Award in the 'Spread The Word 2017' competition
Fear grabbed me by the throat like someone was choking me,
I struggled to breathe as it started to squeeze me tighter,
It felt as if I was being hung,
I was being strangled by the Anaconda of anxiety,
As it slowly reared its ugly head,
It started to stealthily and slowly creep into my soul,
I could feel a shiver running down my frail spine,
I froze with fear as if I were dead,
The only thing that moved was a single tear running down my burning cheek,
My eyes were as red as fire,
It felt as if the whole world around me had been killed,
Fear grabbed me by the throat like someone was choking me,
My final breath rasping and rattling in my sunken chest,
As I expelled it I knew it was my last...
