"“Go my daughter leave this great land.
From which you’ve grown up on this very sand.
Find another land as beautiful as here.
And remember me, year after year.
I’m the one who gave you this choice.
So go live in peace and let us rejoice.
Find another place and have your children there.
And remember the smell of salty sea air.
In your new land make the Vietnamese strong.
Make sure you stand out from the Chinese gong.
I want you to lead our people to freedom in your new land.
Live on the coastline in their great sand.
“Yes I will father I’ll do as you say.”
I’ll go live in this new land the Vietnamese Way.”
“You are the sign of Vietnam.
And remember your father the great seaman.”
