Excellence Award in the 'Spread The Word 2017' competition
Sweet serenades from a string quartet,
Floating chords of notes waft from a clarinet,
From an object it is the best noise you can possibly get,
Passion and serenity have finally met.
Intertwine do the threads of sound,
Resonant through my ears all around,
Tunes upon tunes floating up and down,
A series of sounds worth a million pound.
Yet it varies, and conquer do DJs and hip-hop,
Electro and metallic have not the wit to stop,
Yet their tunes are vibrant, and they put in your feet a rhythmic hop, A frivolous medicine for boredom as its climax reaches the top.
Music, no mistake, is a thing of wonder,
Whether it's of folklore, modernity or a style out yonder,
It's a matter indeed over which I tend to ponder,
But it's awfully entertaining, no matter what the genre.
