In pain and misery they dwell
It's life in a living hell
And only time can tell
When they'll be crushed by the infidel
Is there a way to end it all?
At the very least, escape the war?
They hear whispers of a land far away
Driven by hope, they're on their way
Freedom. Hope. Peace.
Overwhelming relief
And an inordinate amount of grief
For their families stranded in war
Who have no place they can call home
So in the streets they have to roam
In hunger, misery and pain
No voices left to complain
