Precious, with the blaze of its sharp glow; gold
With its intensity, enough to stun
Flaming like a fire freshly coaled.
Sharing the radiance of the fierce sun.
Precious, with its shining amber coat; gold
Tormented not by the raging monsoon
Holding the beauty of the marigold
Sharing the radiance of the bright moon.
Precious, with its pure metallic gleam; gold
Sought by the rich; dug by inferior
Bestowed with such value, yet it remains cold.
Sharing the radiance of fine silver.
Precious, like silver, the moon and the sun,
What could you be, my sweet, radiant gold?
