The Sad House

BANG! ARRRRRR! I threw myself at the window and hoped I’d crash through like they do in the movies.
Mum screamed, “They’re shooting.”
Dad shouted, “RUN!”
Grace said, “Get out of the house.” Every shouted, “ARRRRRRR!!!!”
“Thank goodness we got out in time otherwise we would have been crisps,” dad said.
Pop asked, “Why?”
Dad replied, “Our house burnt down.”
Pop asked, “Did you call the fire brigade?”
“Yes,” said mum.
“Sirens and water is all we heard. It was really loud,” said Harry.
Pop asked, “Were you there?”
Harry replied, “No but I heard it. There were flames everywhere.”
Zoe explained, “All we have to do is buy a new house.”
“How?” Asked Grace. “Where are we going to get the money?”
“We all know that the bank has money let’s go there.”
“NO!” Said the bank manager.
“Why not?” Asked dad.
“Well let’s see. The last time you wanted a loan from us, we lent you two million dollars,” explained the bank manager.
“It was only 2 million dollars,” replied dad.
“Where is that?” Asked the bank manager.
“Well, well…” stammered dad.
“Yeah, no more until you pay back the 2 million dollars. You will just have to find a job,” said the bank manager.
“Noooooooooo,” yelled dad.
“It’s ok dad,” cried Grace.
2 hours later we heard, “Hmmmm, hmmmmmm.”
Dad asked, “What job should I choose?”
“How about cooking?” Said Zoe.
“Nah,” answered dad. BANG!
“Not again, RUN!” Yelled mum. Crash!
“Harry!” Tom cried.
Zoe yelled, “Tom, no! It’s too dangerous, no.” I had tears in my eyes. My best friend Harry was gone.
A few weeks later we bought a new house and mum, Zoe, Grace and dad were watching TV and I was in the kitchen making a snack. Suddenly I heard a noise, “Woooooooooo.”
Tom said, “What’s that mum? I think there is a ghost in here.”
“Don’t be silly, okay. Go to bed,” said mum.
“Wooooooooooo.”
“Hello, is anyone there?” Tom asked. “MUM, MUM there’s a ghost.”
“It’s just a bad dream. Get back to bed,” said mum.
The next morning Tom said, “Hey dad, can you get rid of the ghost in my room?”
“What ghost?” Said dad.
“Never mind,” replied Tom.
“Bye dad,” said Zoe and Grace, “Hey Tom, why were you going on about ghosts? Last night I heard something too.”
“Call the Ghostbusters,” said dad.
“Are you sure you have a ghost?” Said the ghostbusters.
“Yes,” said mum.
“We are on our way,” they replied.
“Mum, I saw Harry. I think Harry has turned into a ghost,” said Tom.
“Don’t be silly Tom,” said mum.
“Mum...”
“No buts. Go and play outside with your friends while the ghostbusters finish the work,” said mum.
