As you hurry down the street the sky is grey,
The wind is howling like a wolf in the night.
A deep rumbling comes from the storm cloud up above,
Mum warned you might need an umbrella.
The storm cloud grumbles, one last rumble,
The sky tears open like a brown, crumpled paper bag.
You make a dash for home but it’s not easy, your school bag is too heavy.
The street lights turn on one by one like yellow eyes glowing in the dark.
You spot your house, you give a sigh, home is near.
You run under the porch, panting heavily,
Opening the door you smell warm, delicious dinner cooking.
Mum is cooking up a storm in the kitchen!
