On the outside we are like flower petals
Though grown we are still young,
A bud on the peak of blooming
Our lives hardly begun.
But our love in the heart of flowers
Is freshly sown and young,
Waiting patient in a bud’s grasp
The adventure just begun.
As age gradually increases
The petals bloom and fade,
In time our looks develop
And soon begin to age.
But the love we’ve sown this season
If cared and tendered for,
Will live fresh among dead petals,
Young for evermore.
