Me Poem

She wakes up every morning and gets ready for school,
as she would kill to be a girl that’s cool.
She walks into school, hair swinging side to side,
when she walks past the teacher she gives a look of pride.
After school she’s there in her room,
too tired to move to even pick up a broom!
She feels the need to stand up and look in the mirror,
and instead of dust and mould, everything looks much clearer.
She closes her eyes; she is too scared to look,
as she’s found an ugly troll, thinking it’s her in the book!
But she opens her eyes, she thinks: this can’t be,
and if you can’t tell this girl is me!
