Excellence Award in the 'Write Here Write Now 2017' competition
coffee stained tables, cigarette smoke motifs
friendly green trees and open-armed air
sun-kissed eyelids, faint bird banter
muffled clattering of horse hooves against cobble stoned streets
crowded cathedrals, walls dressed with art
history laced roads watched by wandering bubble bath clouds
clinks of mingling glasses, the exchange of neighbourly grins
a wrinkled man outside a souvenir store with a pipe betwixt his lips
it’s a perpetual buzz that lingers and persists
it’s eternal in my soul for it’s impossible to abandon
the tenderness of vienna in summer
