I am quite scared, scared in my home,
Trying not to think of a soldier poem.
It makes me think of the guns used in battle,
And the rat-a-tat-tat of machine gun rattle.
My poor little heart is all a-quiver
When I think of the Navy ships going down the river,
And I see in my mind loaded guns on the deck.
It makes me shiver right up to my neck!
Look at those fighter planes high in the sky!
It really does make me want to cry.
And see those pilots all dressed in brown?
All of them shooting each other down?
And now I am so scared I cannot get to sleep.
If I do I will fall into dreams dark and deep.
But if I need to I will go to war
If it is my country I am fighting for.
