A Book Is A Door

A book is a door to a magical world;
grassy fields, strangled trees
anticipation as you enter the unknown

Words swirling, leaping off yellowed pages,
flickering candles throw light
in amongst the shadowed suspense
hidden within the text,
neatly written in glistening ink

An escape;
whisking you away
to a land of roaring dragons and clashing swords

A refuge, haven, home...
leave behind the past
and open a door to the future,
to a resolution,
to somewhere extraordinary—unique
