Thump thump, I tumble out of bed
I don’t want to know what lies ahead
I want to stay in bed all day
But my homework was due, to my dismay.
I had to go, what else could I do?
I stumble around for my other shoe
I get on my uniform and pack my bag
I have to do it fast or mum will nag.
I leave the house and lock the door
I look ahead to the convenience store
My nose is red, it’s super cold
But I still stagger on like I was told
I arrive at school and walk in the gate
And I suddenly realise, I am really late
I rush to my classroom to do some school work
Then I immediately remember, I forgot my homework
