They are blind puppets of man’s will-
Beings born of sunlight, they are daylight’s sin.
They are bound to one, through life and death-
Their ebony faces show no emotion, no pain.
They are insulted with no end, their sadness is unbearable-
Yet they are still bound to one, the one they serve.
They are flawless, beings of perfection-
Created through light and darkness, they are pure.
Their courage is unmatchable-
They have the bravery of a thousand men.
They are blinded by the greed of the human eye-
When men fall, shadows fall with them
They are transient beings, they live a thousand lives.
Born at sunrise, gone at nightfall.
They are immortal, perfect-
Yet they are but shadows, daylight’s sin.
