T’was the night before Christmas,
and one creature stirred,
The cries of a woman
were all to be heard.
Her bed left unshared,
Her arms left open.
No husband, no son,
And her life left broken.
T’was the day after Christmas,
dressed all in black.
The funerals of men,
who should have come back.
Care not about time,
Care not about place.
War leaves a widow
who needs not a face.
