Centenary of Poppies

The pain, the suffering, and the loss
The war, the battle, it never stops
Bombs and guns, lives and loved ones
Bodies shatter, but memories live on
Crosses are carved, tears are shed

The poppies grow, not from the soil
But from the hearts and souls of the men who rest below
They died not in vain, for Australia is young and free
The ANZAC legacy continues and the legend grows
We hold dear the values of mateship, courage and resourcefulness
