Looking into the mirror, I could see it.
The constant abuse and torture I endured;
It occurred night after night from that day forward.
Praying to forget the imprint of the calloused hands upon me,
Nothing could remove the feelings of dirt across my body.
The make-up,
The hairstyles,
The clothing.
None could mask my feelings of self-hatred.
My quality of life was threatened.
My smiles had been manipulated.
As my brain began to throb,
The lines on my arms; they reddened.
All I wanted was for the pain to stop.
For it to decease.
For me to decease.
