I’ve seen the eagle, the bird of prey;
Circling the sky at the break of day.
Its wings spread wide; I watch it soar,
Its eyrie perched high by the shore.
Its round, yellow eyes - oh how they gleam,
As they lock on the the target, she remains unseen.
With a beak that means death for all of its prey,
And talons to stop it from getting away.
The chick waits impatiently up in the nest,
To feed and prepare for the biggest of tests.
It flexes and stretches, ready for flight,
And shrieks to its Mother with all of its might
Every day it grows stronger, she knows she must use
All her power to teach her with so much to lose.
Magnificent Raptor, majestic and lean,
Slicing the air as a killing machine.
