It envelops me in a dark cloud of sorrow,
Sometimes I think there will be no tomorrow. Light flickers in the distance but I am unable to touch,
As the darkness comes nearer it’s too hard to clutch.
It’s unbearable, unstoppable, too hard to think,
As the twilight comes closer, I can hardly blink.
I’m trying to fly, reach up to the clouds,
But the darkness is coming and light will enshroud.
Like a falling feather, I stop to rest,
I know in the twilight, I must be my best.
As I get caught in its vortex, I have one final thought,
That life in the twilight cannot be fought.
