Was Something Said

THEN…
I saw them
With passion in their stance, and anger in their eyes
We stood on the red-hot ground, and soon we shoot them down
They all fell in silence, but their heads screamed with anger
I screamed, why did we kill them all
Before nothing was said
But sometimes I wish that I said something instead
The vast hills and the billabongs
They are all familiar now
I am still wishing something was said
Some of them are still alive
But most are dead
The screams at night still go through my head
We stole from them, as the thieves we are
We should not do that anymore
But now I need to go to bed
And cry myself asleep, about all the death
