This is a great story about two adorable, fluffy, new born silky chickens!
Four weeks ago me and my family borrowed an incubator from Aunty Tash. She gave us ten eggs
to put in it and we had to roll them half way every morning and night. I had to make sure the
humidity didn't run low and so every afternoon we added water to the middle container that was
inside the incubator.
We had to be the most patient kids in the whole wide world because it takes three whole weeks
for the baby chickens to grow and hatch out of the eggs. The eggs are small, warm, hard, fragile
and whitish brown.
Finally, the whitish brown baby chicken eggs hatched! It made me feel so excited I wanted to
scream. Sadly, only two baby chicken eggs hatched and it made me feel super sad. The two
newborn chickens were very wet from being in the egg that had fluid in it. We had to leave them in
the incubator until they were dry and then we put them in a box with a warm light.
When they were one day old we got to cuddle them and they were super fluffy. Every day we feed
them and give them water and cuddles. They are important to me and I love them.
