Excellence Award in the 'Horizon of Dreams 2018' competition
The watercolours drip off the paintbrush,
Like the first drops of rain.
Gliding across the paper, like birds in flight.
As bright as the sunrise in the crisp morning light.
Colours clashing together like cymbals.
Dancing across the page like ballerinas.
The yellow is like flaxen in a field.
The tangerine is Jupiter.
The violet - amethysts glistening in a stone cave.
The water disappears, like a bath down the drain.
But the colour remains.
