The monsters, they don't sleep under your bed
Or slink in all the shadows black as coal.
These monsters, they reside inside your head.
These monsters lick your thoughts and brush your soul.
They creep in all the corners of your mind.
They wait for doubt, for grief, for guilt and rage,
To wash you with their darkness; leave you blind.
Embrace you in their warmth and let you age
Away all of the pain you've felt 'til numb
Is all you feel. Their spindly fingers kiss
Your spine. Your mind is filled with eerie hums.
How sad it is that monsters are your bliss.
How sad it is that monsters can erase
All pain you feel caused by the human race.
