A lonely wolf pup, left to die
Taken from his only brother
Unable to care for both, mother only cried
What a shame, a pup abandoned by its mother
The frozen river cracked and swallowed
A lonely wolf pup, left to die
Swept past some animal’s hollow
He did the unthinkable, he survived!
An owl grabbed him out of the river, wondering why
He had been unfairly left
A lonely wolf pup, left to die
And very surprised he was, to find himself in a nest
“Join a pack” the owl told him, depositing him on the floor
The wolf pup’s only reaction, he began to mewl and to whine
“I cannot care for you well, but a pack could give you more,
You are my lonely wolf pup, left to die”
