Oh, Houdini, I loved you so,
Though I didn’t know you well,
I miss you with all my heart,
Our relationship began with such a joyful start,
My brother didn’t mean to harm you,
When he shook your cage with rage,
I thought you were still alive,
Alas! You didn’t survive,
I will never forget your crunch at night,
As you ate your favourite gum leaves,
I will remember you always,
Even though we were only together a few days.
