Excellence Award in the 'Horizon of Dreams 2018' competition
I still against the flow of time,
that ripples through the eyes-
Dawn falters in a moon-lit current
towards a shifting day,
that calls from mirrored chains;
don’t waver in your mould-
And I who cannot face the storm
burn brighter in the shadows,
brace for waves that choke the cost
that trails in the wake-
Purge from me that drop of doubt;
I hold with broken hands
And sweep away the last of it
in torrents of a dream.
