Everyday I look in the mirror and always see myself,
but why over the years do I keep looking different?
Simple.
I age, even if I desperately don’t want to.
One day I’ll look in the mirror and look at my hair then realize I have none,
I’ll see the shadows growing, wrinkles overflowing,
hear and see less.
I’m scared of growing up.
Maybe I want to be Peter Pan, maybe even a lost boy,
I’m scared of losing my immaturity, scared of becoming independent,
I’m scared of losing my friends, scared of what my future will be.
Then I look around and see,
Everyone’s growing up with me.
Everyone has the same insecurities, same fears.
That makes me feel less frightened of what lies ahead.
