Efflorescence

I stand for the thrown out rose
I stand for the roses to decompose
I stand for the roses that you'd never suppose
I stand up for the flowers at your door
And the flowers on your floor
And the flowers when you can't take anymore
I stand for the flowers that you make
And the flowers that you steal
And the flowers that weren't ever real
I stand for the flowers that you leave
And the flowers that you keep
Because you hold on when they don't believe
Lastly I stand for you caught on thorns
Picked too early the flowers of summer
For these are the flowers that you choose as lovers
