Excellence Award in the 'Write Along 2018' competition
Thoughts running wild inside my head, like butterflies on a summer day,
Words that were never said, they all just run away,
I look left, then right, I dream of the quiet and peace,
Although none of it in direct sight, even so... the hope will never cease,
My mind is endless like the sea, never quite set on what to be,
Feelings that are never free, only some..to a certain degree,
Ideas that I seem shy to share, without a point... or a reason,
The ideas change without a care, as often as a change of season,
My mind may seem set, but it does waver,
Even though I shouldn’t fret, I worry it could be graver,
But then again as I am writing, the thoughts will change,
They just keep fighting, never out of range,
My mind could work a million miles an hour, and I would stifle a yawn or a sigh,
I conclude my mind has power, though, with power, secrets lie,
With that final thought, I say goodbye.
