She stared at herself in the mirror
Grimacing at the sight of her face and body
She scrutinised her blemishes, comparing herself to those of better appearance
She thought of herself as someone unworthy of love
But also thought of herself as a flower
A peculiar, small daisy in the midst of vibrant red roses
A daisy questioning how unique she was
As weeks passed by, she started to view herself differently
She started to learn how to love, how to self-love
And soon she came to the realisation
That although she felt like a singular daisy in a crowd of roses
That roses have imperfections too – thorny stems that pierce through skin
And despite being a daisy with flaws, she accepted herself for who she was
An imperfect daisy amongst other imperfect flowers
That all of which deserve to flourish under the radiant sun
