What Is A Perfect World?

Excellence Award in the 'Write Along 2018' competition

Even the idea of a perfect world is completely unattainable,
Because one we all agree on is no longer sustainable.
As soon as you remove the flaws that you believe make this world a dystopian society,
You realise just how full this world is of corruption and notoriety.
We spend billions on making our own countries supreme in acts of mammon,
While billions of people suffer from the consequences of global famine.
We turn a blind eye to the problems that we can fix,
While focusing on third-string problems like sport and politics.
We spent more on saving the banks during the global financial crisis,
Then we have so far on fighting world hunger and ISIS.
It is a sad reality but it is the painful truth,
And the next road of action relies on our youth.
When we have everything, it makes our obnoxiousness amplified,
And for those who do not understand, I will make it more simplified.
If we don’t do something now to influence change,
We may as well go back to monitoring the stock exchange.
