she loved him like the sun loved the moon.
so much that she knew
she had to wait like the predator for its prey.
closing her eyes
and remembering his touch did not do justice to his memory,
but feeling her heart race in the cage the enclosed her pride
was like a hammer, chipping away at her thoughts
which focused on him, a spotlight through the shadows left behind
which formed both her nightmares and her dreams.
while her existence was questionable to him - he still chased the memory of her despite washing her scent off of his clothes.
although he fought to remember to forget, her handprint still tattooed his heart,
and no laser could remove what she had left behind
in spite of her tears and smiles.
