I wake up to birds singing their own little tunes
Up I get and have a cold shower
A slurpy bowl of cereal gives me the power
To play skip rope and footy in the red dirt
After school we go to the beach where the mangroves
Are tangled and tanned by the sun
We watch the bright orange sun go down over the mud flats
The sand is soft between my toes
My eyelids begin to droop
Dad drives me home in the back of the ute
Dinner time
Brush my teeth, toilet then bed
Sleep and dreams of good wishes await the night ahead
