Darkness

The night hides many things,
fear, secrecy, all the dark things.
Children running down the passage,
hopping on the light, skipping the scary things.
But the night only lasts for so long,
light, happiness, all the good things.
My mother awakens, I hold her tight,
hugs, kisses, all the good things.
