In her eyes I see fire, In her eyes I see pain
Pain that she’s been carrying for too long, Longer than I’ve been alive
In her eyes I see beauty, The beauty of her pain and kindness
In her eyes I see hope, Hope of a better tomorrow
Tomorrows filled with ‘milk and honey’, In her eyes I see death of a thousand men, women and children
In her eyes I see the fall of a nation , A nation that is filled with greed
In her eyes I also see myself , A clear reflection of her
In her eyes I find hope
Hope of a future filled with opportunity
Opportunity she never had but fought to give me
In her eyes there is a purpose there is a hope
That hope is me.
Forever in her eyes, pure and kind.
